60 Years of Tree Farm Memories

In July 2000, Charlotte compiled a book of stories from the Tree farm. Twenty years later, you can read a scanned PDF here. You can read her Editor's Note below:

I do not know exactly why I took on this project. Between schoolwork and extra-curricular activities, I am an extremely busy person. Yet, over Columbus Day weekend, I had the idea that it would be nice to have a Tree Farm book... something that everyone could write in or add to at any time. And I thought this would be the perfect time... now that everyone is getting ready for the big 60.

I originally thought this would be a small booklet and people would send me short anecdotes about how they built their cabins. I intended to copy and paste them into one collective story. The original concept has turned into so much more. After I sent numerous, desperate emails, many more people than I expected wrote to me and sent fascinating materials.

This book contains the Tree Farm's almost  complete history through the variety of stories that I have received. It is not complete and will never be fully complete because there is such a rich store of memories that the Tree Farm has enabled to have and share. Also, there are people who are no longer with us... we can never have their rendition of what the Tree Farm meant to them. We can only imagine that for them, like the rest of us, it was a haven that had a place in their hearts.

I hope this book will bring back great memories and connect us with out future generations. Thank you to all of those who have made this book so much fun to create and such a great success! Aren't you glad I am so persistent?

Much love, peace, and happiness,

Charlotte McCorkel
